On Thursday December 4th, East Brandywine Fire Company volunteers were dispatched to a reported house fire on Swinehart Road. In addition Glen Moore Fire Company, Honey Brook Fire Company, Alert Fire Company, and Westwood Ambulance were also due on the assignment.

Chief 49 arrived on scene to find a light smoke condition on the first floor and moderate smoke condition in the basement. Upon the arrival of the incoming units crews went in service to find the source of the smoke condition.

It was determined that contractors ignited a window frame with a propane torch during construction work.
