2016 Line Officer Installation Ceremony and Company Recognition Program

On Wednesday evening January 13th East Brandywine Fire Company held their annual Line Officer Installation and Company Recognition Ceremony.

Overall the evening was a huge success with nearly 100 people in attendance.

The evening opened with Chief Edwards welcoming guests some of whom included Township representatives as well as business and community leaders. Chief Edwards also acknowledged all of the families who were in attendance who are so vital to the Organizations success.

Chief Edwards then went on to highlight all of the accomplishments the Company experienced in 2015.

Following the overview, Deputy Director of Emergency Services for Fire Beau Crowding addressed the audience. Deputy Director Crowding praised the Company as being one of the best in the County particularly from personnel, training, and good business practices perspective.

Following Deputy Director Crowding, Chaplain Jerry Schwartz spoke to the audience. Chaplain Schwartz is a retired Baltimore City Fire Department Captain and has more then 40 years experience in the fire service. Chaplain Schwartz last assignment was at the Steadman Superhouse in downtown Baltimore. He was twice decorated for heroism, and currently serves as Chaplain for the West Chester Fire Department. Chaplain Schwartz message to the group surrounded leadership and the attributes of a good leader.

After both speakers, Nancy and Bruce Doane local residents helped round out the evening with a "connect to purpose". Nancy and Bruce explained to the audience how the Fire Company was there for them in their time of need.

The 2016 Line Officers for both the Fire and EMS Division were then announced.
