April 22, 2016

On Friday afternoon, East Brandywine Fire Company volunteers were dispatched in conjunction with the Glen Moore Fire Company to the 3000 block of Manor Road for an AFA.

Chief 49 arrived on location to find a ranch style home with nothing evident from the exterior on sides A and D. Per Police the homeowners were not home and the house was secure. Chester County Communication Center noted that the alarm company had attempted to contact the owners without success.

Upon initiating a 360 degree survey personnel detected an odor of what seemed like food on the stove and smoke was visible through a window on the C side of the house. Crews forced entry and found cooking which had been left unattended.

The home was ventilated and crews cleared about an hour after arrival.
