13 Call Day for EBFC Volunteers

This Sunday proved to be a busy day for East Brandywine Fire Company, with volunteers responding to a total of 13 incidents between Fire and EMS calls.

πŸ”Ή 1:18 AM – Auto Accident, Hopewell Rd
Crews were dispatched to 1012 Hopewell Rd for a reported accident with unknown injuries. East Brandywine Police arrived first and found a black Toyota 4Runner overturned off the roadway with one occupant trapped. Assistant 49, Rescue 49, and Ladder 49 responded. Fortunately, Assistant 49 and PD safely assisted the uninjured occupant out of the vehicle before clearing at 1:36 AM. The scene was turned over to PD.

πŸš‘ Between 5:48 AM and 4:59 PM, QRS 49 handled 7 EMS calls.

🌬️ Evening Storms Bring More Calls
As a cold front and high winds moved in, our volunteers responded to multiple fire-related incidents:

πŸ”₯ 5:18 PM – Wires Down & Small Fire, Hadfield Rd
Engine 49-2 responded to the 200 block of Hadfield Rd for a tree down on live wires with a small roadside fire. PECO was notified, and the roadway was closed.

🚨 Multiple Calls at Once
While still on Hadfield Rd, two more incidents came in:
πŸš’ Fire Alarm & Transformer Issue in West Brandywine – Rescue 49, Utility 49-1, and Utility 49-2 responded and handled both calls.

🌳 More Trees & Wires Down
Shortly after clearing Hadfield, another call came in for trees and wires down on Dilworth Rd. Engine 49-2 arrived to find a tree on primary lines. PECO was notified, and the roadway was closed between 477 & 499 Dilworth Rd.

πŸš— 7:19 PM – Auto Accident, Horseshoe Pike
Final call of the night came for a truck vs. tree in the area of 894 Horseshoe Pike. Rescue 49, Utility 49-2, and QRS 49 responded alongside Minquas Fire Company EMS. Crews assisted EMS, controlled hazards, and provided traffic control until Fling’s Towing removed the vehicle at 8:15 PM.
