First Due House Fire on Rock Raymond Rd

This morning at 3:40am, the East Brandywine volunteers were dispatched to a residence on Rock Raymond Rd for a report of a chimney on fire. Within minutes Battalion 49 was on the street responding and was advised that all occupants were out of the house and the chimney was reported on fire.

Ladder 49 & Engine 49-2 made the response at the same time. A short time later Battalion 49 arrived on location with a one story ranch home with fire showing from the roof area above the attached garage and requested the upgrade to a working house fire and also requested the tanker task force due to no hydrants in the immediate area.

Engine 49-2 arrived and stretched an 1 3/4 handline into the residence while the Ladder crew assisted with initial fire suppression and began opening up the garage while also putting the aerial to the roof. As additional units from Station 49 and mutual aid began to arrive several more handlines were placed in service and crews were sent to the roof to begin opening up.

The fire was placed under control at 4:30am and the assignment was then scaled back to units from East Brandywine, West Whiteland, Honey Brook and West Bradford at 4:36am.

No injuries were reported to either the residents or any emergency responders. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family
