Volunteer at East Brandywine
The East Brandywine Fire Company is a 100% volunteer organization. Its dedicated members have served the emergency needs of the residents of East Brandywine, West Brandywine and Upper Uwchlan Townships since first organized in 1955.
We are always looking for dedicated, community-minded persons who wish to join our ranks. There are also many roles and tasks that do not involve fighting fires or responding on emergency calls. If you are interesting in helping out through those means we would greatly like to speak with you too.
Firefighters & Emergency Medical Technicians
Friendly, honest and able-bodied men and women ages 18 years and older, with a desire to help protect our community are always welcome to apply for membership. Prior emergency service experience is desirable, but is not necessary. All necessary training is provided through and paid for by the Fire Company. Firefighters, Apparatus Operators, Emergency Medical Technicians and First Responders, Fire Police and other support personnel are always in demand in our ever-growing community.
Junior members (ages 14-17) are also welcome to join. These members will gain invaluable life experience and help participate in fire suppression & rescue incidents. School members are restricted in some activities and time as deemed by child labor laws set forth by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
Active Non-Responding Members
Most people associate our organization with emergency responses. However, there is a tremendous amount of “behind-the-scenes” work that occurs on a daily basis in our operation. We welcome individuals who are interested in participating in any way that you are able to. Your assistance is need with many different areas including: maintenance of the property and apparatus, public safety education, fundraising, public relations, report completion or other administrative duties.
How to Get Involved
If you would like to take the step to get involved in the safety of your community, choose to volunteer with other neighbors who are members of the East Brandywine Fire Company. We can definitely use someone with your talents in our organization.
Annual dues are only $5.00; an initial application fee of $10.00 is charged, for a total of only $15.00.
Being part of our organization requires commitment. The level of commitment and participation is up to you, however. The reward you gain from being part of an organization that takes great pride in protecting its community is the satisfaction of being part of a first-class community-based organization.
A link to our membership application is below. We encourage all interested individuals to call or stop by the firehouse any Wednesday evening at 6:30 to meet our members and officers and ask any questions that you may have prior to applying. You may also contact our membership committee by contacting membership@ebfc49.org.
