On Wednesday evening at 10:41pm East Brandywine Fire Company along with mutual aid were dispatched to the 2800 block of Manor Rd in West Brandywine for a reported house fire. Initial reports were of a couch on fire with a subject possibly still trapped inside.
Engine 49-2 with a crew of 5 responded within two minutes of dispatch along with Chief 49 and Deputy 49. Shortly after their response Police Officers arrived on location and confirmed fire showing from the second floor.
Chief 49 arrived and assumed command while Engine 49-2 arrived and split their crew having two conduct a search while two others stretched a hoseline to make a push on the fire. As the first in crews were working additional members arrived on Ladder 49, Engine 49-5, Rescue 49 and mutual aid. A second line was stretched and also placed in service with the fire being knocked down quickly.
The fire was placed under control at 11:07pm and all units were cleared except for EBFC crews who remained on scene until just before 5am. |
