On Wednesday morning at 1:58 am The East Brandywine Fire Company, along with mutual aid, were dispatched to Patriot Lane in West Brandywine for a reported structure fire. Reports were of a house on fire in the area.
Deputy 49 arrived and reported two barns, the surrounding woods, and a farmhouse involved with fire. Engine 49-2 arrived, laid a supply line from the nearest hydrant, and advanced 3 handlines simultaneously to begin fire attack. Engine 49-2's crew began suppression on the house, barns, and woods. Engine 49-5 arrived second, securing the water supply for engine 49-2. Ladder 49 and Ladder 6 were utilized for master stream operations. Crews remained on scene for roughly 3 hours in high wind conditions.
East Brandywine was assisted by West Whiteland, Glenmoore, Honeybrook, Modena, Downingtown, Thorndale, Wagontown, Lionville, and the VAFD fire departments. |
