Saturday 4/27/2024 at 7:50am units from EBFC and mutual aid were dispatched to Saint Peters Church in West Brandywine for a commerical building fire. Initial reports were of smoke and flames from an electrical box behind the altar.
Engine 49-2, Ladder 49, 49-5, Rescue 49, Chief, Deputy, Assistant, and Battalion 49 all made the response with a total of 21 volunteers.
Upon the arrival of Engine 49-2 the crew laid a supply line from the hydrant at the main entrance while Chief 49 investigated. It was determined the fire was out with a slight smoke condition inside. At that time the call was held to East Brandywine units only. Crews remained on scene to secure the electrical box and remove the remaining smoke from the building. Later in the day crews handled two fire alarms and one medical call. |
