On Monday evening at 7:47pm EBFC along with mutual aid departments were dispatched to the 100 block of Hopewell Rd for a shed on fire.
Assistant 49 (Monestere) made the response and arrived quickly to confirm he had a shed on fire to the rear of the home. Homeowners had deployed a garden hose and knocked the majority of the fire down. At that time the assignment was scaled back to EBFC units only.
Engine 49-2, 49-5, Rescue 49 and QRS 49 all made the response with a total of 23 volunteers.
Engine 49-2's crew arrived and stretched a hand line to the rear to finish extinguishment while crews worked to remove the melted siding and checked to make sure all the hot spots were cooled down. The company was on scene for under 30 minutes before clearing the scene. |
