Tonight at 5:15 PM, Ladder 49 was dispatched to assist the Westwood Fire Company on a reported chimney fire on Manor Road in Valley Township.

Upon arrival, crews from Westwood reported no visible fire from the exterior. After investigating, it was determined to be a furnace malfunction rather than a chimney fire. Smoke was present inside the residence, prompting checks for carbon monoxide levels.
Ladder 49's crew arrived on scene and assisted with ventilation efforts while ensuring the home was thoroughly checked for carbon monoxide. Once the situation was deemed safe, all units cleared the scene.
