On Wednesday morning, March 26th at 11:36 AM, the East Brandywine Fire Company was dispatched to assist Honey Brook Fire Company with a reported commercial building fire at Novacare Rehab, located at 1351 Walnut Street in Honey Brook Borough.
Initial reports from the scene indicated smoke inside the building, and evacuation procedures were already underway upon dispatch. Engine 33-1 from Honey Brook arrived first on scene and reported smoke showing from the structure. A Working Fire Dispatch was quickly requested.
Ladder 49 and Utility 49-1 responded from East Brandywine, and upon arrival, our crews assumed the role of Rapid Intervention Team (RIT), standing by for firefighter safety and rescue if needed.
Honey Brook crews located the source of the fire in the attic space and worked efficiently to bring the situation under control. Their swift and effective response helped minimize further damage and ensured the safety of all occupants and responding personnel.
East Brandywine Fire Company units were on scene for approximately 30 minutes before being released and returning to station.
