🚒 **TRAINING NIGHT: FIREFIGHTER BAILOUTS** 🚒

Wednesday evening was another night of hands-on training for the members of **East Brandywine Fire Company**, with this week's training focusing on **firefighter bailouts and emergency escape techniques.**

When operating inside a burning building, conditions can change in a matter of seconds. Rapidly deteriorating fire conditions, structural instability, or becoming trapped can put firefighters in life-threatening situations where getting out quickly is critical.

During Wednesday night's training, members reviewed and practiced proper bailout techniques designed to allow firefighters to rapidly escape a dangerous environment while doing so as safely and effectively as possible.

Training focused on the importance of recognizing dangerous conditions, maintaining control during an emergency escape, and using proper techniques and equipment to safely exit a structure when traditional escape routes are no longer an option.

🚨 **WHY IS THIS TRAINING SO IMPORTANT?**

Firefighters train extensively to enter burning buildings, locate victims, and extinguish fires. However, knowing when and how to get out of a dangerous situation is just as important.

These are skills we hope our members never have to use during an actual emergency, but if that moment ever comes, we want those techniques to be second nature.

**Repetition builds confidence, confidence builds proficiency, and proficiency can save lives.**

Our volunteers dedicate countless hours throughout the year to training, ensuring they are prepared not only to protect the residents of our community but also to protect themselves and their fellow firefighters.

At East Brandywine Fire Company, firefighter safety is always a priority because at the end of every incident, **our ultimate goal is for everyone to go home safely.**
